On June 24, 1947, the modern era of UFOs began with Kenneth Arnold’s dramatic sighting of “saucers” flying between Mount Rainier and Mount Adams in Washington State. Incidentally, this day is known in those circles as a date that a significant amount of UFO contactees and enthusiasts have often died mysterious deaths.
It is also the birthday/feast day of St. John The Baptist, who is the patron saint of freemasonry, baptism, conversion to faith, people dealing with storms and their effects (like hail), and people who need healing from spasms or seizures. His feast day is normally celebrated by bonfires. His birth was considered a miracle, as his mother was regarded as infertile without the help of Saint Gabriel, who is said to have made St. John’s father unable to speak until after his son was born, and also under the conditions that he expressed “true faith”. Picture below is Leonardo Da Vinci’s portrait of St. John The Baptist.
Additionally, today is Arthur Brown’s birthday, perhaps best known for the 1968 song, “Fire”.
